Joerg joined Token as a Sales Director in Germany after spending the last 18 years in payment companies. Although his role is dedicated to sales and business development, he is interested in the technology behind the product and user experience. Joerg lives in Cologne with his wife, two kids and a crazy Italian Waterdog.

Why did you join Token?
I’m a strong believer in the bank-initiated checkout and PSD2 initiatives giving customers control over their bank account, allowing certified companies access and the right to perform transactions. I was a very early member of the SOFORT team and this type of payment is my expertise. With Token, I see the chance to create a service on the next level in terms of comfort and convenience for both merchants and their customers.
What do you like most about working for Token?
The team, the spirit and the chance to create something disruptive attracted me to the organisation.
If you could switch jobs with anyone else at Token, whose job would you want?
Product management since it requires a lot of creativity to create the services.
What has surprised you the most about working in our industry?
I’ve been in the industry for 18 years, but I never thought it would be this much fun to work on a topic that for most people is just a commodity.
What's your one prediction for the future of technology?
What would you be doing if you pursued another career?
Professional golfer, but I'd probably be homeless by now due to lack of talent.
